This track focuses on empowering tribal, state, and federal leaders, with shared knowledge and skills needed to guide tribal early learning and care programs. Participants will explore best practices for culturally grounded governance, how to align programs with community values and traditions, and how to navigate federal, state, and political policies and climates. Attendees will also learn how to advocate for their community’s needs and ensure that programs reflect the tribe’s vision for the future.
Designed for program administrators, directors, supervisors, managers, and coordinators, this track provides tools and strategies for effectively managing tribal early learning and care programs. Participants will gain insight into how to mindfully lead teams to create culturally responsive policies and to foster strong partnerships with the community to ensure the program meets the unique needs of tribal children and families.
This track is tailored for teachers, caregivers, and support staff who work directly with children in tribal early learning and care programs. Participants will learn how to promote their own wellness, how to incorporate and align evidence-based practices with cultural traditions, language, and teachings into their daily practices to promote healthy child development and preserve tribal heritage. Attendees will engage in hands-on workshops that explore strategies for creating an inclusive, nurturing, and culturally affirming environment for young children and their families.
