The CA Mentor Program’s Mission is to:
To strengthen and sustain the child care and development workforce by recruiting, engaging and elevating a broad representation of certified mentors who are reflective of the communities they serve. Implement peer to peer, relationship based, mentoring for students, teachers and administrators leading to the direct impact of the quality of care and education children and families receive.

Goals of the CECMP:

  1. Support those who are exemplary in their job roles, and whom may be eligible for a lower permit level than Master Teacher.
  2. Provide opportunity for leadership development.
  3. Recruit mentors who mirror the communities they serve (BIack, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), multilingual and other underrepresented workforce).
  4. Engage in a reciprocal relationship in learning about high-caliber, culturally responsive practice.
  5.   Pair high caliber Mentors with those entering the profession in the same job roles.
  6.   Allow Mentor to provide mentoring at the mentee’s job site.
